London City Airport Cladding the Extension

We were tasked with cladding the extension to London City Airport with one elevation airside and the other boundary adjacent to The Thames. As you can appreciate there were many logistical nightmares we had to overcome.

Works to airside were carried out in small time frames at night, however, on the waterside we had to carry out the installation of composite panels using powered access sat on barges.

Even on calm days, the swaying of the barge made installation tricky. However, we carried out the project within programme, resulting in an eye-catching extension visible from the car parking areas.

Materials used were Kingspan Micro rib and Resitrix EPDM.
